Since you asked…
In the summer of ’94 I left Cork City, Ireland for the slightly sunnier climes of Southern California. After a short year working in a credit card company (eh, not for me), a few years bartending beachside and a two year stint in Santa Monica College, I entered the motion graphics world in 1999. First with a company called Broadcast DVD, then on to Artifact Inc, Imaginary Forces, Crush Voodoo and in 2004 I joined Brand New School. I remained there for ten years, where I worked on some amazing jobs with a group of incredibly talented people.
In 2014 I left Brand New School to rejoin the freelance world. I began with an enjoyable few months at Flavor Inc and then on to Elastic. I spent five years there working alongside a group of wonderful people with top-tier talent.
While at Elastic I’ve had the pleasure of working on the Oscars, the MTV Music awards and a number of critically acclaimed Netflix documentaries. In 2019 my work on The Ted Bundy Tapes: Conversation with a Killer for Netflix earned me an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Main Title Design. We lost to tough competition by my very own Elastic colleagues for their brilliant work on Game of Thrones.
When I’m not moving pixels around a screen, I enjoy the frantic company of my three children, running, hiking, backpacking, playing and watching soccer. Oh and poker. I like a bit of poker too.
Be good.
